Titus Rodriguez Iris Canary Chad Brewer

Titus Rodriguez embodies respect, kindness and personal integrity

For some, the family business leads to a lifetime career. Titus Rodriguez got his first taste of construction working for his dad’s construction company in high school. After graduation, Titus served in the army for two years before heading to college and earning a bachelor’s degree in sociology and an associate’s degree in criminal justice. While in college, he also served in the Army Reserves and participated in the ROTC program. Upon graduation, Titus was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Military Intelligence Corps. He credits the military for giving him a foundation of leadership skills used throughout his life.

Iris Canary Builds from the Heart

Iris Canary, an assistant superintendent on the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFWIA) Terminal Renewal and Improvement Program, is part of the team currently working on the 400,000-square-foot renovation of Terminal A Phase III. This project is a significant interior remodel, as well as a replacement of all back-of-house systems. “The job site is vast, we easily walk eight to 10 miles a day,” stated Iris.

As assistant superintendent, Iris says one of her favorite things about her job is interacting with people, collaborating with the team, and solving problems. Iris wants to ensure project success by building trust and open communication with owners and trade partners, so at the end of the day, we deliver on their dream and their vision.

Building Connections and Trust

Chad Brewer is a born builder. His dad has worked in construction his entire career, so Chad grew up on job sites, and construction is all he’s ever wanted to do. When he graduated from college, he turned to his dad for recommendations on good companies. Lucky for us, Balfour Beatty was on that list. Chad started with us as a project engineer in 1998, and he has worked his way up the ranks to operations director for the Fort Worth office, but he has never forgotten his first projects, and the lessons he learned.

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport

Balfour Beatty, in a joint venture, began the renovation of Terminal A at DFW International Airport in 2012. The building system had reached the end of its service life. We were asked to replace all the primary systems with new, more efficient ones.

Chad Brewer, LEED AP

In his role, Chad Brewer is actively involved with all phases of projects and works closely with clients to ensure their goals are met. He began his career as a project engineer and worked his way up to managing some of the largest local projects, including the Gaylord Texan Resort and Conference Center and the Omni Dallas Convention Center Hotel.

Damon Maldonado, LEED AP

Vice President, Education Group, North Texas

Relentless Ally since 2005

As vice president for the North Texas Education Group, Damon brings more than 20 years of experience constructing K-12 facilities across Texas. This in-depth, first-hand knowledge makes him an invaluable mentor for his team and a relentless ally for our education clients. Damon is a team builder and his goal for the education group is to achieve meaningful work in a team-based, collaborative environment.

Eric Krueger

Eric has overall responsibility for business acquisition, marketing and communications and future business planning across Texas. He believes in a strong operational culture based on servant leadership that celebrates our clients, community and each other. He is an alumnus of the Southwest Airlines Culture Committee, The Parkland Foundation and The Real Estate Council (TREC). He is also a former associate board member and mentor for the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. Eric currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association - Tarrant County and At Last!

Pleas Mitchell

Pleas has been in the construction industry for more than 30 years, most of which have been spent building award-winning, profitable, landmark projects for Balfour Beatty. He has been involved in the construction of more than two billion dollars in buildings in the healthcare, corporate headquarters, educational and hospitality market sectors. He has managed every aspect of a construction project’s lifecycle, including planning, preconstruction, construction, finish work, close out and warranty.

In his role as president of the company's Texas operations, he provides continuous overall management direction for operations to ensure timely delivery of a quality product that meets the owner’s functional requirements and the architect’s design standards.

Pleas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University.
