Al Cavet brings more than 30 years of experience to his role, focusing on K-12 and higher education clients. Al’s expertise as a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and Design-Build Professional (DBIA) ensures lean construction behaviors, highly collaborative environments, and the most innovative tools and integrated processes are embedded into his projects.

A 40-year construction industry veteran, Brian Cahill joined Balfour Beatty in 1993 when it was known as Barnhart, Inc. in San Diego, California. In 2015, Brian was promoted to his current position as president of California, overseeing operations and business acquisitions throughout California and Arizona.
Throughout his career, Brian’s leadership skills and industry expertise have been acknowledged through several avenues including recently being named one of San Diego’s 500 Most Influential Leaders by the San Diego Business Journal for his leadership, dedication to our Zero Harm safety culture and continuous commitment to the communities where we build. He has also co-authored a book, Humanizing the Education Machine, which explores the many challenges facing public education today.
Brian is a Certified Construction Manager and a LEED® Accredited Professional: he holds a degree in aviation science from San Diego Mesa College and attended San Diego State University. He is also a certified flight instructor and served for five years in the U.S. Navy as a deep-sea diver, having graduated from the U.S. Navy Deep Sea Diver School in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
In his free time, Brian is active on several Boards including Junior Achievement of San Diego and Imperial Counties, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. He enjoys anything aviation related including flying the backcountry airstrips in Idaho and Montana and training his two Labrador retrievers.

Emily joined Balfour Beatty in 2014 and has since held positions with increasing responsibility. With two decades of experience, her success can be seen throughout Southern California where she focuses on the K-12 market. She attributes her success to her ability to develop strong, trusting, and communicative relationships with all team members.

Gil Fullen began his career with Balfour Beatty. He has successfully managed multiple projects and several multi-million dollar school district bond programs. Gil focuses his attention on the K-12 and higher education markets in Los Angeles/Orange County, California. He is committed to developing client relationships and often speaks at industry events.

John Baradin is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) bringing more than 20 years of experience to his role. He is a U.S. Veteran and has worked in various industries including petrochemical, medical, aviation, and construction on projects with a cumulative value of over $1 billion. His oversight includes projects located throughout California and Arizona.

John Bernardy brings three decades of experience to his position in which he is responsible for Sacramento, Orange County, Los Angeles, and Ventura operations and business development. John’s expertise in the K-12 and higher education markets has been instrumental in the successful completion of hundreds of school projects throughout the region.
