Balfour Beatty Announces New Vice President of Operations in Georgia

ATLANTA, GA – Balfour Beatty announces the promotion of Russ Brockelbank to vice president of the company’s Georgia operations. With 39 years of experience in the construction industry, Russ’ new role will focus on work winning and project execution across Georgia where he will continue to serve Balfour Beatty clients and their construction goals in the highly competitive geographic markets of Atlanta and Savannah.
Russ has been with Balfour Beatty for five years, leading sales and operations as a project executive. He is well-known for his collaborative approach, solutions mindset, and technical expertise along with being a mentor to the next generation of leaders in the business. During his tenure with the company, Russ’ leadership has been pivotal in securing and executing major projects at Balfour Beatty including the Hampton Inn & Suites Midtown, The Osprey, The Atlanta Mission Restoration House, The Thompson Hotel - Savannah, 14th & Spring, and Novel Midtown.

As vice president, Russ will continue to serve our residential, hospitality, and office clients and expand his leadership role to include the oversight of the K-12, higher education and local government market sectors in Georgia further growing the company’s operations in Atlanta and Savannah. He will also continue to serve on Balfour Beatty’s Georgia Business Unit Leadership Team and work closely with Balfour’s preconstruction and operations teams in providing high quality and trusted general contracting services across the state.
Russ currently serves as director for the Buckhead Coalition, an advisory board member of Georgia Tech’s CEE Construction and Infrastructure Systems Engineering (CISE) program, board member for Central Atlanta Progress and is a member of Urban Land Institute (ULI) and Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP). He also serves on Atlanta Mission’s President’s Council and Real Estate Committee.
