Everyone Has the Right to Respect
At Balfour Beatty, we value everyone for their unique skills, knowledge, experiences and contributions. Across our global business, we have launched Right to Respect. This program clarifies the behaviors we expect everyone to observe, including Balfour Beatty teammates and those who engage with our teams in our workplaces and jobsites. It also empowers our colleagues to hold each other accountable.
Right to Respect helps us Value Everyone – a core tenant of our cultural framework – by providing employees with the tools and resources such as jobsite Toolbox Talks they need to effectively and confidently navigate complex situations when they arise.
“Respect is a key ingredient for living out our behaviors,” says Eric Stenman, president and CEO. “The Right to Respect program will give everyone the tools they need to hold each other accountable and set the tone for how we behave in our business.”
Much like our industry-leading safety program, Zero Harm, Right to Respect sets the tone with how we expect people to behave and engage with others at our jobsites and offices—just like the manner in which Zero Harm establishes our safety standards and protocols.
We believe that over time and with the support of every teammate across Balfour Beatty, Right to Respect will help transform our industry and usher in fresh, new ways of thinking. It will encourage a more collaborative working environment for our teammates and partners that is built on the solid foundation of respect and will enable our industry to continue to evolve for the future.
Join our team in building new futures where we value and respect everyone through our words, actions and choices.
