Investing in our Teammates

by Balfour Beatty

Through the Association of General Contractors (AGC) of Texas scholarship program, Balfour Beatty is sponsoring three teammates who are currently working on the Pegasus Link Constructors (a joint venture between Balfour Beatty and Fluor) I-635 East project in Dallas, Texas.

During a luncheon recognizing scholarship recipients, AGC of Texas Chapter President Wade Miller shared his encouragement and insights on the industry.

“The highway business is a tough business. You’ve got to be tough, and you never, ever, give up,” he said. “And you’ve got to trust yourself. If you do that, it'll be a very rewarding journey at the end.”

The scholarship program, which is funded through an annual fall gala, provides students with a yearly contribution for four years to help finance a college or technical school education. The goal of the program is to identify and invest in the future leaders of the highway and bridge industry. This year, the organization awarded a record 45 student scholarships.

Balfour Beatty is honored to play a role in supporting the AGC of Texas in its goal of building a brighter future for Texas.
