DALLAS, TX –  Balfour Beatty ranks No. 2 on Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) 2022 Top Performers list, which lists commercial and industrial contractor members who build long-lasting high-quality construction projects, based on work hours.

“We are honored to be recognized again by ABC as a Top Performer,” said Leon Blondin, Balfour Beatty’s U.S. chief executive officer. “This is a true testament to our teammates’ ongoing commitment to safely deliver premier projects and innovative solutions on behalf of our clients’ building goals. Our team is grateful for the opportunity to work with our industry partners to build vital infrastructure that meets the growing needs of our local communities across the country.”

As an ABC Top Performer, Balfour Beatty demonstrates world-class safety performance by achieving STEP Gold or higher in ABC’s STEP Safety Management System, which makes the top-performing contractors more than six times safer than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics industry average, according to ABC’s Safety Performance Report.

The listings highlight contractors that have earned ABC’s Accredited Quality Contractor credential for their commitment to corporate responsibility in quality, safety, talent management—including inclusion, diversity, and equity—education and community relations; those that won national Excellence in Construction® Safety Excellence and Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Excellence awards; and those that hold designations awarded to diverse companies to help procure work from government and private entities.

Balfour Beatty is a long-standing member of ABC receiving multiple accolades in the delivery of construction projects across the nation. Most recently the company is recognized by ABC of Florida’s East Coast Chapter with its “Project of the Year” and Excellence in Construction (EIC) Eagle Award for the completion of River Landing Shops and Residences in Miami and ABC Central Florida Chapter with its EIC Eagle Award in the Entertainment category for SeaWorld Ice Breaker Coaster ride in Orlando.

“Balfour Beatty invests in and attributes its successes to its people, and its value proposition gives their employees purpose, delivers quality to their clients, and strengthens their bottom line,” said Michael Bellaman, president and chief executive officer of ABC. “Congratulations to Balfour Beatty for raising the bar in developing people, winning work, and delivering that work safely, ethically, and profitably.”
