Balfour Beatty, the North Carolina Department of Transportation, and a host of local dignitaries celebrated the opening of US 17 Maysville Bypass Highway in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 14. The $143 million project, a joint venture between Balfour Beatty and Branch Civil, includes 12.3 miles of a new four-lane divided highway that helps provide a shorter and safer ride around Maysville and Pollocksville. Originally scheduled to open in June 2020, the project opens eight months early and is under budget.
