Two years after renderings and timelines came to light for Asana Partners’ The Krog District expansion, construction on the project has officially wrapped, having bulked up retail, parking, and office options around the ATL food hall pioneer that is Krog Street Market.

General contracting firm Balfour Beatty today announced work on the Inman Park destination has concluded, creating what company officials described as a “stylish and versatile” new development that’s one of the BeltLine’s premier mixed-use draws.  

As designed by ASD/SKY architecture firm, changes around the rechristened Krog District include two new retail and office buildings—clad in brick with steel structural bones—that replaced a gravel parking lot and industrial/automotive buildings. Elsewhere, existing properties such as Atlanta Stove Works were opened up and enhanced with retail corridors, new storefronts, landscaping, lighting, and seating, most notably around BrewDog Atlanta brewery.

The largest addition is a four-story building on Krog Street with an attached, 186-space parking garage. Its first level is slated for retail, with floors above “in shell condition for future interior upfits by tenants,” according to Balfour Beatty officials.

Meanwhile, a 33,000-square-foot, three-story structure where Lake Avenue meets Krog Street faces the Eastside Trail and provides a new link to Krog Street Market via a hardscaped access point. Offices are also in shell condition for tenants there, while retail additions below include a 10,400-square-foot space for lifestyle and outdoor brand Patagonia. (Asana reps have reportedly nicknamed this structure “the Gravel Building” in honor of the BeltLine visionary.)

Elsewhere, Balfour Beatty is currently readying a 1,960-square-foot space for skincare retailer HeyDay. Other upfits are also underway for Restore Cryotherapy, a wellness center, and Rowan, a piercing studio, per the company. Specialized Bicycles also has a space in the works.
