CAMP SPRINGS, M.D. – Balfour Beatty celebrates the topping out of the $57.8 million Air Force Consolidated Communication Center (CCC) at Joint Base Andrews in Camp Springs, Maryland. A “topping out” ceremony was held to commemorate the milestone which signifies significant progress towards the delivery of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command’s (NAVFAC) newest building that will accommodate for future mission growth, facilitate moves from aging facilities and centrally locate critical communications activities for the National Capital Region.

To reach the milestone, Balfour Beatty teammates poured 1,800 yards of concrete, set 191 tons of steel and placed 75,654 block units of the building’s masonry bearing to complete the new single-structure facility that will accommodate the U.S. Air Force’s (USAF) 89^th, 744^th and 83^rd squadrons.

The CCC is a Design-Bid-Build (DBB) project which was awarded to Balfour Beatty in Fall 2021.The firm-fixed-price contract of also includes options to provide furniture, fixtures and equipment.

Construction is ongoing for the CCC and is scheduled for completion in Spring 2025.
