Balfour Beatty Hosts Fourth “Together Allies” Summit
This month, Balfour Beatty is hosting its fourth “Together Allies” Summit to rededicate and reinvigorate our commitment to a respectful and inclusive workplace for all. The virtual summit will take place throughout October and includes a series of panel discussions on the vital importance of inclusion and how each Balfour Beatty teammate can contribute to our people-first, Zero Harm culture.
This year’s summit theme is Right to Respect , which further embeds our people-first culture by making clear the behaviors we expect and empowering our colleagues to hold each other accountable.
Our Right to Respect program encompasses many aspects that are core to our business and our identity as a company, including our people-first culture, our commitment to Zero Harm, our teammates’ and trade partners’ psychological safety and making ethical decisions in the workplace.
Starting with a summit keynote on October 5 and culminating in a capstone panel discussion on October 24, employees will participate in several employee-led conversations featuring experts both within Balfour Beatty and from partner organizations. In addition to the virtual discussions, offices and jobsites across the nation will gather teammates together for in-person viewing of the multiple sessions throughout the month.
“Our commitment to a Zero Harm culture is an active, intentional and ongoing priority, and we believe respect for everyone furthers our inclusiveness as an organization,” says CEO Eric Stenman. “I’m inspired by the progress made since we launched the Together Allies Summit four years ago, and I’m excited to see our teammates become even better equipped to make a difference and create a workplace that is respectful for all.”
This year’s summit also marks Balfour Beatty’s inaugural sponsorship of Construction Inclusion Week (October 16-20). This event brings together many of our peer and partner organizations to advance DE&I conversations and establish alignment that will promote industry-wide progress.
Join our team in building new futures where we value and respect everyone through our words, actions and choices.
