Balfour Beatty is providing construction services for the horizontal scope of work, which involves two below-grade parking garages totaling 660,000 square feet, as well as all horizontal and public spaces including site work, utilities, hardscape and parks. The two garages are each constructed adjacent to and over the existing WMATA Green Line tunnels. Together, the two garages cover the entire approximately seven-acre construction footprint, with excavation depths up to 30-feet. Both garages will provide state-of-the-art parking control technology as well as security, utility, fire and life safety features to support the vertical buildings. The garages are designed to achieve LEED Gold Neighborhood Development certification.
670 & 680 Maine Avenue Office Buildings
680 Maine Avenue, a 290,000-square-foot office building and 670 Maine Avenue, a 237,000-square-foot office building, are being constructed on top of the garage podium. 670 & 680 Maine will feature one of the nation’s premier law firms, Williams & Connolly, as the anchoring tenant and will be connected by a shared second floor. The two office buildings will have a custom curtainwall façade, and are designed and will be built to achieve LEED Gold Core and Shell certification.
The Wharf Phase 2

Phase 2 of The Wharf is scheduled to deliver in 2022.
