Nestled below Camelback Mountain, the resort earns its namesake from the shadows cast by the iconic silhouette each afternoon. Reinterpreted in the spirit of the original, the all new Mountain Shadows Resort features timeless modern design, 183 guest rooms, a restaurant with exhibition kitchen, a terraced pool, hot tub, fitness facility and a revamped 18-hole golf course with a grill. Bright indoor space includes two ballrooms, five boardrooms / meeting rooms and pre-function space. The stunning outdoor space includes a ballroom terrace, two event lawns and a 5,000-square-foot roof deck with unparalleled views of Camelback Mountain.

The restaurant, bar and ‘living room’ space define the essence of the resort. Gathering spaces with unique timeless design, fireplaces and coved ceilings accent a delicate wood bar. Each of the spaces is designed to allow friends and strangers alike to share and enjoy. The restaurant wraps a signature water feature and butterfly roof. The kitchen is a specially designed exhibition kitchen, allowing the patron to view the actual preparation of the meal.

The premiere indoor meeting space is a ballroom with custom carpet, coved ceilings; 14’ sliding glass doors allowing access to the pre-function and exterior event patio. A single breakout ballroom sits across from the main ballroom. Both rooms are divisible into two separate event rooms. The boardrooms and meeting rooms each provide custom design and AV while providing natural light and access to the event patio. The final and most noteworthy meeting space is an open event deck that provides uninterrupted views to the majestic mountain.

The pools consist of two cascading pools separated by a sheet flow water fall and walk pads. Both pools are orientated on the center axis of the restaurant and fitness building and step up towards the mountain, drawing the eye upwards to the peak and Arizona sky.

The project was developed as a partnership between Dallas-based Woodbine Development and Scottsdale-based Westroc Hospitality. It was designed by Allen + Philp Partners.

The project has received industry recognition for excellence. AZRE Magazine bestowed the project team an esteemed Real Estate & Development (RED) Award during their 2018 Annual RED Awards Gala.
