Balfour Beatty was responsible for the design and reconstruction project to widen I-85 in Davidson County, North Carolina. The team project widened I-85 from two to four lanes in each direction along 3.6 miles of highway. The contract included associated Y-line and service road realignments, construction of three MSE walls and one new 80-foot wide by 200-foot long concrete girder bridge.
