JM Alexander Middle School is a new school located on Hambright Road adjacent to Blythe Elementary School, Huntersville, North Carolina. The 135,000-square-foot structure is 2 story steel frame with CMU infill and brick facade. The building is separated into 2 buildings with a 2 hour fire wall. The first building that houses the gymnasium and cafeteria is a single story building, while the second building housing the classrooms is two stories in height. Building will include 49 classrooms, 9 science classrooms, media center/TV studio, cafeteria, gymnasium (with stage area) and support space. The site is approximately 23 acres and includes construction of football and softball fields, shot put, discus throw and track and field. Once complete, JM Alexander will share an existing bus lot with Blythe Elementary. Dissecting the site is an operating road to North Meck High School that is used to commuting students.
