Roy Evans, senior project manager, Sam Moses, general superintendent and Jessica Leon, project engineer, along with numerous industry trade partners recently spent an evening with local high school juniors and seniors as part of the ACE Mentor of Dallas program.
The hands-on workshop taught students how to develop a milestone schedule and site logistics plan based on the 1.9 million GSF mixed-use Park District Dallas project. This dynamic mentoring program deepens students understanding of industry career opportunities, while providing insight into the tools and techniques used by our experts in the field.
“Jessica Leon’s story is a perfect example of how the program can go full circle. She was a one-time student in the ACE Mentor Dallas program, then interned with Balfour Beatty Construction over the summer while she attended Texas A&M University, and now she works for Balfour Beatty’s Education vertical,” shared Roy Evans, who has been an ACE Mentor of Dallas Board Member since 2014. “It is extremely rewarding to play a part in developing the next generation of construction leaders.”
