But at Balfour Beatty, we take it a bit further to truly engage all employees at all levels, even providing a paid Volunteer Day to all employees. Our commitment to be a Relentless Ally goes far beyond our clients and partners; it goes deep into the heart of the communities where we live and work to make a difference!
The projects that Balfour Beatty’s Georgia team builds extends far beyond Atlanta’s perimeter. Our active jobsites span coast-to-coast. This distance, not to mention the office-jobsite disconnect we so often see in our industry, lends its own challenges when coordinating volunteer efforts. While our Georgia office focuses on five major local non-profits, our remote jobsites have the autonomy to coordinate volunteer efforts in their own backyard. Many of our project teams raise funds for local communities during the holidays or provide meals during Thanksgiving.
All employees are encouraged to participate in initiatives coordinated at a broader level by our BB Spirit! team in the main office. From walking to raise money for Make-A-Wish® Georgia, to preparing meals for the homeless with the Atlanta Mission – there is no shortage of opportunities for all Balfour Beatty employees, both from the office and jobsites, to draw upon their talents for the good of all.
“Our leadership drives the initiative for dozens of volunteer events throughout the year, allowing employees ample opportunity to incorporate volunteering into their busy personal and work schedules,” affirms senior vice president and business unit leader, Mike Macon.
