Balfour Beatty Construction Names Russ Brockelbank Project Executive in Georgia Division
March 07, 2016
Balfour Beatty Construction has hired industry veteran Russ Brockelbank as project executive in its Georgia Division’s Atlanta office. In this role, Brockelbank will have management oversight of several high-profile projects, while also helping lead the company’s efforts to expand its portfolio in the commercial office and hospitality markets.
With over three decades of construction industry experience in Atlanta, Brockelbank’s expertise adds immediate value for clients and project teams in both the preconstruction and construction phases. Well established in the community, Brockelbank will continue his role serving on several boards for organizations such as The Buckhead Coalition, Junior Achievement, Central Atlanta Progress, in addition to his involvement at Georgia Tech on advisory boards for the School of Building Construction and School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
“Russ is a well-respected industry leader whose immense knowledge of the commercial construction marketplace will play an important role in the growth of our Atlanta operation,” said Mike Macon, vice president and business unit leader for Balfour Beatty Construction’s Georgia Division. “With more than 30 years of experience, Russ will make an immediate impact on our business, offering expert construction oversight and providing clients the valued level of guidance they have grown to expect from us.”
Brockelbank joins Balfour Beatty Construction having successfully served the Georgia market as a business unit leader responsible for the oversight of large, complex projects. Representative projects he has helped deliver include Cousins Properties’ Terminus development (Terminus 100, 200 and 10 Terminus), Centergy One, W Hotel & Residences, Technology Square Research Building, Southern Company headquarters, and Nortel Phase II - Roswell.
“I am thrilled to join Balfour Beatty Construction and look forward to getting back to my roots working as a project executive and building again,” said Brockelbank. “This position allows me to more closely serve clients who I have known for years, while supporting Balfour Beatty’s growth in Atlanta and throughout the Southeast.”
“For decades, the construction industry’s value proposition was largely undifferentiated and companies competed on the same basis with emphasis on the old standards – portfolio strength, schedule, cost and quality,” said Al Petrangeli, president of Balfour Beatty Construction’s Georgia Division. “Today, these qualities just get us to the table and practices such as Lean construction, innovation and integrated project delivery push us to continuously examine all that we do. As a result, creativity and innovation are born. Key to this journey is the ability to bring in the talent that supports our differentiated vision, making the addition of Russ Brockelbank to our strong leadership team so rewarding.”
