    Balfour Beatty Construction Elevates Two Florida Leaders

    ORLANDO, Fla. – Balfour Beatty Construction has promoted Mike Carlin to senior vice president and Brian Prebenda to vice president for the company’s Florida Division. In their elevated roles, the two recognized construction executives will drive operational excellence for Balfour Beatty clients across the state of Florida.
     
    Carlin began his construction career with Balfour Beatty in January 1990. With more than 26 years of industry expertise, he has grown with the firm through several progressive leadership appointments. Most recently, Carlin provided operational oversight as vice president for the company’s markets in the South Florida area. His project experience includes over $2 billion in work executed throughout the state including Class A office buildings, courthouses, administrative, office, education and barracks facilities for the U.S. Department of Defense. His experience also includes construction of high-security facilities for a variety of public and private clients including county and federal government entities.

    With nearly two decades of construction experience, all with Balfour Beatty, Prebenda has been responsible for more than $1.4 billion in owner contracts, and is closely engaged with sales and client account strategies for central Florida.
     
    Prebenda’s career includes an impressive resume of project experience across a wide-range of market sectors including hospitality, entertainment, transportation, public assembly, government, criminal justice and multifamily housing. In his previous roles as project executive, Prebenda helped lead several high-profile projects including work at the Jacksonville International Airport and the world-renowned Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.  
     
    In his new role, Prebenda is responsible for executive oversight, ensuring that an environment of collaborative behaviors, innovative tools, and integrated processes are embedded and working within project teams. He is focused on the clear identification and management of all stakeholder values for projects, team alignment and being a relentless ally for clients.
