Balfour Beatty Construction Celebrates 35 Years in Houston
January 12, 2015
HOUSTON – Starting in 2015 and in partnership with the community, Balfour Beatty Construction is celebrating 35 years of history in Houston. The company marks this significant milestone at a time of strong momentum in the market thanks to the support of its clients, trade partners and the community.
In 1979, Balfour Beatty’s legacy in Houston began as a small interior construction company. Over the next 35 years, the company’s presence expanded, ultimately growing to become an important part of Balfour Beatty’s global construction business leading signature projects across the Bayou City.
“Balfour Beatty and our legacy companies have always been deeply embedded in Houston, and we are humbled by the support of our community, clients, and trade partners that have helped us reach this major milestone,” said Steve Mechler, president of Balfour Beatty Construction’s Houston division. “We would not have been able to realize such significant success without their continued support and thank them for engaging, guiding, and partnering with us for 35 successful years.”
While honoring its legacy roots in successful small, medium, and large interiors build-out projects, Balfour Beatty’s Houston division has dramatically grown over the years to become a market leader in performing commercial ground-up, education, healthcare, multifamily, aviation, energy and technical facility projects.
