    Balfour Beatty Construction appoints three new directors in Northern California

    EMERYVILLE, Calif. - Balfour Beatty Construction announces the appointments of three new directors in their Northern California division.

    Bill Campbell, director of preconstruction technologies & building information modeling (BIM), will lead the Northern California division’s BIM Group. He has more than 10 years of experience in the industry, with a background in industrial engineering and BIM management. Prior to joining Balfour Beatty Construction, Bill served as corporate BIM manager for ACCO Engineered Systems where he was involved in the construction of notable projects such as Apple Campus 2, Facebook West, and Gilead Sciences. Bill is actively involved in industry organizations including Autodesk User Group International where he serves as a content manager and regular author for Autodesk’s AUGIWorld Magazine. In addition, he was featured as a keynote speaker at the Center for Integrated Facilities Engineering (CIFE) annual conference at Stanford University this past June, and is a regular speaker and attendee at Autodesk University.
     
    Fred Parker, director of operations (Special Projects Group) will lead the Northern California division’s Special Projects Group’s efforts in ensuring operational excellence. He has more than 30 years of experience in the industry, with a background in operations, preconstruction, estimating, scheduling, marketing, and business development. Prior to joining Balfour Beatty Construction, Fred served as vice president and division manager of the Federal Group for Swinerton Builders. Fred is actively involved in industry organizations including the Associated General Contractors (AGC) and the Society of American Military Engineers.


    James (Jamie) Qualk, director of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems (MEPS), will lead the Northern California division’s MEPS efforts. Jamie has more than 15 years of experience in the industry. His expertise includes building design and construction, green building, sustainability, renewable energy, building operations, net-zero, commissioning, market trends, and project feasibility. Prior to joining Balfour Beatty Construction, Jamie served as commissioning authority (CxA) for notable projects such as the Transbay Transportation Terminal and the SFMOMA renovation. He currently serves as a contributor and editorial advisor to EDC Magazine and has written and delivered graduate courses regarding the design, construction, and operation of facilities and renewable energy.
