Osceola News-Gazette: $82M upscale senior rental community set for Celebration

    June 01, 2017

An $82 million upscale senior living rental community is coming to Celebration.

With an expected opening date for Windsor at Celebration in Spring 2018, modern senior community’s owner and developer Big Rock Partners announced the beginning of its pre-leasing on June 1.

“Celebration is widely known for its residents’ involvement and sense of community,” said Big Rock Partners senior managing principal Richard Ackerman. “Our residents who’ve established close ties here – and those new to the area – will find it easy to stay connected to their friends, to life, learning and purpose within and beyond Windsor at Celebration. For families, it’s a welcome opportunity to meet loved ones’ changing needs, keeping them close in a vibrant and caring setting.”

Windsor at Celebration will offer 239 units of independent living (151), assisted living (55) and memory care (33). Prospects can expect to see one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den and two-bedroom private floor plans. Designed by global architectural firm Gensler, the upscale community’s plan promotes an engaged lifestyle, offering an array of choices for dining and entertainment while maximizing senior independence and wellness.

Windsor at Celebration will feature resort-style amenities, such as a stadium-style screening room for movies, a recreation center for daily activities as well as cutting edge technology including hardwired Wi-Fi and 180-channel HD DIRECTV throughout the community.

Set on Celebration Boulevard, Windsor at Celebration will focus on security with a fenced perimeter and advanced locking system with keyless entry. Additionally, the community will offer residents a rooftop sky bar atop the six-story building to meet with friends for a premier view of Disney’s nightly fireworks show.

“We’re creating a community that reflects Celebration’s unique appeal, combining the five-star hospitality of a grand hotel like The Breakers or The Biltmore, with a Disney-inspired spirit of ageless fun and discovery,” said Ackerman.

According to a press release, Windsor at Celebration’s lifestyle promotes wellbeing and inspires life-enhancing wellness, from its engaging and dynamic entertainment to the community’s classes and events at the indoor pool and on-site fitness center.

Construction manager Balfour Beatty Construction’s hospitality experience exceeds 30,000 hotel rooms in Central Florida including Disney and Marriott International. Life Care Services will manage the community, as the third largest manager of full-service senior living communities. Adventist Care Center, a skilled nursing center, is expected to open next door to the community to provide a full range of preventative, proactive and professional care.

“We really couldn’t ask for a better time or place to bring Windsor at Celebration to life,” said Windsor at Celebration Executive Director Angie Layfield. “We have always believed there was a special opportunity to extend the innovative, inspiring vision that was Celebration’s impetus to an equally special community where active-aging adults continue to thrive, with lifelong adventure, well-being and security.”
