Balfour Beatty Construction expects construction to start in September on a 201-unit apartment project featuring Orlando’s first Tesla ride shares and micro-size units.
The Tavistock Development Group is developing The Pixon, which is to have 201 units, including six micro residences with less than 400 square feet. The project is also expected to forge new ground with Bluetooth-enabled security entrances. Other amenities: a rooftop lounge, a 3-D printer and a 24-hour fitness center.
The ground floor is to include 32,500 square feet with a bar/restaurant, retail/pharmacy and café. An adjacent lobby for residents is planned for concierge services, a gaming arcade, complimentary beverages and a conference room.
Preliminary rents haven’t been released but the property is likely to set the high end of the market when it opens next summer under SPM Management.
Torti Gallas + Partners and also M + A Architects designed the space with units as large as a penthouse with 1,730 square feet. Half the rentals are two bedrooms with more than double the space of the micro units.
