Mark Johnnie Appointed Director At-Large for Carolinas AGC Board

    March 02, 2018

At the beginning of the year, the Carolinas Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (CAGC) announced its 2018 Board of Directors, and Mark Johnnie has been appointed as a Director At-Large. Mark is the vice president and regional manager for Balfour Beatty US Civils business in the Southeast – a region that specializes in highway, water and rail projects in the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC.

The Carolinas AGC is a construction trade association made up of contractors and construction-related firms that perform work in North Carolina and South Carolina. CAGC is a chapter of the AGC of America (AGC) and the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA). Inclusive of member companies in both North Carolina and South Carolina, the CAGC represents one of the largest AGC chapters in the country.

Balfour Beatty has been a member of the CAGC since 2007. CAGC member companies are contractors, suppliers and service providers who support the commercial, utility, highway and rail markets throughout the Carolinas. The association brings thousands of members together through networking events, safety education and professional development opportunities.

The board of directors is responsible for making policy and management decisions for the association. As the Director At-Large, Mark serves as a director representing the state of North Carolina; another director at-large represents South Carolina. Mark’s appointment to the Board demonstrates that he is a trusted member of the contracting community, one whose industry and management expertise will benefit the CAGC and its members.

“For me, it’s a significant responsibility, a huge honor and an excellent opportunity for me to give back to an organization that supported my education and advocates for the construction industry,” Mark explains of the position. “I’m very honored to have been elected to the CAGC Board and I’m very grateful to Balfour Beatty for supporting my appointment.

Mark, who has been with Balfour Beatty since 1998, will serve on the Board for a three-year term that concludes at the end of 2020.

Congratulations to Mark Johnnie on this significant achievement.
