Luda Safransky Named 40 Under 40

    May 29, 2019

With 14 years in the AEC industry, an MBA completion at the age of 24, and a registered LEED Green Associate, Luda Safransky is a pioneer in leveraging relationships, information and resources to drive value for her company, community and the industry as a whole.

As a business development manager for Balfour Beatty's San Diego office, her insight has played an essential role in the business development team's acquisition of over $1 billion worth of work in the last 18 months. “The way I do business development is by creating relationships. It’s crucial. I do believe your network gives you more support than knocking on doors,” shared Luda.

Luda credits this strategy with helping her secure a $10 million dining hall renovation project on the University of California San Diego campus. Balfour Beatty had pursued a relationship with the University for years, but it was Safransky who finally acquired the work.

“I think it’s important to know that being a woman, you can still do it all. As a mother of two young boys, I believe you can be successful in both your career and in motherhood," she maintained.

Luda’s commitment to change the perception of what’s possible has paved a path for future leaders. She is actively mentoring several women and men in the industry, teaching them that as long as a goal is in view, it’s not out of reach.
