Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
January 15, 2021
Balfour Beatty employees come together to celebrate and serve on MLK Day
On January 18, 2021, Balfour Beatty team members are taking a “day on, not a day off” to celebrate the life and legacy of civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Renowned as one of the greatest activists in American history, Dr. King promoted nonviolent tactics to achieve civil rights and promote racial equality for all. Among his many achievements, Dr. King’s leadership helped end the legal segregation of African Americans in the South and other parts of the United States and he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. Now more than ever, Dr. King’s message of equality, justice and unity is needed.
During the holiday weekend, our team members across the country are making the personal commitment to put Dr. King’s dream in action. With the help from Balfour Beatty’s affinity group, NOBLE (Network of Black Leaders and Executives), employees will take these few days to self-educate themselves on Dr. King’s life and philosophy and participate in a day of service to continue improving our communities for all.
Join us as we celebrate MLK Day across the many communities in which we live and serve. January 16-18, 2021, we will exclusively feature the activities our team members are participating in to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Follow along with us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
