Balfour Beatty celebrates the rich and deep history of the AAPI community in the U.S.
At Balfour Beatty, our mission is to cultivate a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace where everyone's voice matters. In honor of Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, Balfour Beatty celebrates and recognizes the rich and deep history and influence of the AAPI community in the U.S.
During this annual celebration, we provide platforms and activities for our AAPI teammates to share their experiences and facilitate critical conversations about this community and their invaluable contributions to our country and industry.
In celebration and acknowledgement of AAPI Heritage Month, our teams across the nation will share educational resources, engage in honest conversations and participate in outreach events that support Balfour Beatty’s diversity, equity and inclusion goals.
Balfour Beatty is also utilizing the month-long celebration to formally introduce our newest employee affinity group, REGAL (Reinforcing, Educating and Guiding Asian Leaders). The group aims to promote advocacy and representation for Balfour Beatty's AAPI employees, strengthen cultural understanding and facilitate conversations that advance inclusivity within our company and industry.
According to a Build California study, AAPI individuals comprise only 1.5% of the construction industry workforce, making it one of the more underrepresented ethnicities. One of REGAL’s goals is to educate and eliminate stereotypes towards AAPI members within our industry, thereby ensuring a more diverse and robust talent pipeline.

"By sharing our past, mentoring our peers, celebrating our differences and holding ourselves accountable, we can create mentorship opportunities and help recruit and retain individuals within the AAPI community. Enhancing the diversity at Balfour Beatty serves to create more ideas and perspectives that contribute to our success.”
