A New Home for Those in Need
April 11, 2018
Teammates in Portland stepped out in force to support the final touches for a Habitat for Humanity (Portland/Metro East).
The group of 13 Balfour Beatty volunteers braved the cold and wet weather to spend the day working on the trim and installation of exterior siding, structural support and other finishing touches for a new low-income residential site known as Helensview.
Helensview is a 21-home site that will offer affordable housing for those families most likely to be displaced by gentrification. This was the fourth time our local office sent a team to provide work on this particular project.
According to the site coordinators, Balfour Beatty is one of their favorite groups to volunteer, thanks to our quality craftsmanship, clean workspace and commitment to putting safety first (the team even completed a group flex and stretch before getting started).
Special thank you to all of the teammates who volunteered their time for this worthy cause.
