Trent Johnson has always enjoyed a good challenge. For the past 15 years, he’s had the opportunity to solve plenty of them at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), where Balfour Beatty has been entrusted to build 16 projects ranging in size and scope from a $700,000 carpet replacement to the recent win of the $400 million Runway 5L/23R Replacement Program. Although each project is unique, one constant remains: Trent’s leadership has been instrumental in building strong teams that have successfully executed the challenges of working in an active airport environment.

Relentless Ally Makes an Immeasurable Impact

Communication, decisiveness and approachability are only a few tools of the trade that Chad Humphrey carries with him to work each day, both on the job and within his community. As senior project manager for Balfour Beatty, he has contributed to the development of high-profile, large-scale construction projects in and around Raleigh, NC. His superior project management and consistent community outreach demonstrate that he’s not just here to watch the Triangle grow from the sidelines; he’s here to be a true Relentless Ally—to be involved, to contribute, and to make a difference, one project, one cause at a time.

Since joining Balfour Beatty in 2008, Chad has had three successive elevations in leadership that were a direct result of significant contributions he has made to some of the most notable projects in eastern North Carolina, which include projects at Johnston Memorial Hospital and the Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

Southeast Raleigh YMCA and Wake County Elementary School

This project was the first phase part of the Southeast Raleigh Promise to develop a 110,000-square-foot facility that joined a YMCA and a Wake County Elementary School. Included in this project were perimeter roads, landscaping, playing fields, playgrounds, an aquatics center, community gardens, sidewalks and other YMCA facilities.

As Vice President, Controller for Balfour Beatty’s operations, Casey is responsible for the accounting and budgetary oversight of the construction business for the Carolinas and Georgia. Casey has been a valued member of our team since 2014. A Georgia native, Casey holds a Bachelor of Arts in finance from the University of West Georgia.

Colby is a thirty-year industry veteran who has built an impressive portfolio of public projects. He has spent the past decade as a campus mainstay at UNC-Wilmington, where he has successfully delivered renovations, new construction and P3 projects. Colby brings an unwavering commitment to safety with many of his projects completing with zero recordable incidents. He holds a degree in Construction Engineering Management from Utah Valley State College.

With nearly 30 years of industry experience, Jeff has provided operational leadership to clients in both the public and private sectors on a variety of projects including tenant improvements, additions, expansions, renovations, and large ground up core and shell. Jeff’s collaborative style and strong communication skills have established him as a proven leader and a relentless ally for his clients. Jeff holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech.

As Carolinas president, Jeff provides a thorough understanding of all phases of the construction process from estimating, preconstruction, procurement, contracting and scheduling. As senior vice president and chief legal officer for the company's Southeast operations, John provides executive leadership, and oversees risk mitigation and compliance for our teams in Carolinas and Georgia. An ardent leader with more than two decades of experience, John is the National Chair of the Legal Committee for the Construction Management Association of America.

She is also the founder of Future Unleashed, LLC, a company dedicated to empowering young adults for successful careers. Recognized as a Power Leader in Human Resources by the South Florida Business Journal in 2016, Tequesta is esteemed for her professionalism and leadership. With more than 30 years of experience, Tony is a shining example of not only setting high-performance standards, but also providing the leadership to meet them. Tony has strong field supervisory experience, including monitoring subcontractors and craft employees. He has a BS in building construction and contracting from Purdue University.

Trent holds a degree in Construction Engineering Management from North Carolina State University.
