Community Safety

We won’t accept jeopardizing the safety of anyone on our project sites or in our offices–that includes our employees, vendors, subcontractors, owners, and the general public.

Examples of our efforts toward making our projects safer include

  • "Take 5 for Safety" or "Lunch and Learn" meetings for workers in which they focus on a particular hazard.
  • Weekly safety meetings in which each member of the project staff takes a turn leading the job-wide meeting, emphasizing the importance of safety to every worker with a focus on lessons learned on the project.
  • An "Accident-Free Monday" e-mail campaign, which provides weekly safety updates. We believe that if you can prevent an accident on Monday, you should be able to prevent accidents from occurring any other day as well!
  • When loss prevention managers in Florida were faced with communications challenges from the many languages and dialects of workers from the Caribbean and South America, they developed a hazardous materials chart that uses colors and symbols to teach laborers how to protect themselves.
