Balfour Beatty Construction in 2001, serving as Division President and Chief Executive Officer. In addition to the geographic areas of Charlotte, Atlanta, and Raleigh, his division is also responsible for the vertical market businesses in Military Housing and Corporate Accounts. Bob began his career in 1970 and has held a variety of positions including Project Engineer, Project Manager, Construction Manager, Regional manager, Vice President, and President. Bob earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1970 from Clemson University and in 1974, earned his M.B.A. from Winthrop University. He is a guest lecturer at the Winthrop University Business School and also holds the distinction of being a member of their Pinnacle Leadership Society. Bob chairs the Discovery Place Board, is on the Center City Partners Board, the Winthrop University Foundation Board, the Gateway YMCA Board and was Co-Chair for the Arts and Science Council 2008 Annual Campaign.
